Layrite Original Pomade is a water-soluble styling product designed for men who want structured, polished looks without wrestling with petroleum-based formulas at the end of the day. It offers medium to strong hold with a moderate shine, making it a go-to for pompadours, side parts, and slicked-back styles that reference mid-century barbering.
The formula works best on damp hair and can be reactivated with water throughout the day for touch-ups, which gives it an edge over traditional wax-based pomades. It rinses clean in the shower without requiring multiple shampoo rounds. The vanilla scent is present but not overpowering.
The tradeoff is texture: this isn't a matte clay or a high-shine gel.
