The Farpoint 40 is a maximum carry-on sized travel backpack designed for trips where you need everything accessible but don't want to deal with checked luggage. It opens like a suitcase with a panel-loading main compartment, making it easier to pack cubes and clothing flat rather than stuffing things through a top opening. The harness system tucks away behind a zippered panel when you're moving through transit, then deploys when you're walking longer distances with weight on your back.
This pack works best for travelers who prioritize mobility and tend to pack light for a week or two. The 40-liter capacity forces some discipline, which means it's not ideal if you need bulky gear or prefer having options. The tradeoff is that you can walk straight off a plane, skip baggage claim, and keep moving. The hip belt and sternum strap distribute weight reasonably well for a travel pack, though it's not designed for serious hiking or technical terrain.
