Editor's Notes
This is Tumi's hardside carry-on with an expansion zipper that adds two inches of depth when you need it. The exterior is polycarbonate composite with ballistic nylon accents at the corners and handle, combining scratch resistance with the brand's signature reinforcement approach. Inside you get compression straps, a zippered divider, and the kind of organizational pockets that make sense when you're living out of a bag for a week.
It's designed for the traveler who flies often enough to have opinions about spinner wheels and TSA-friendly layouts. The expansion feature is genuinely useful for accommodating souvenirs, work materials, or the extra layer you didn't need at your destination. Four spinner wheels and a telescoping handle keep it maneuverable through terminals.
The tradeoff is weight and price. Hardside cases with expansion mechanisms are heavier than soft duffels, and Tumi positions itself at the premium end of luggage. This earns its place in the rotation when you want structure, security, and a case that won't show wear after dozens of overhead bin cycles.
